Mission Statement

Well Being Foundation in Tazewell, Tennessee

The Mission of Well Being Foundation is to promote harmony with Nature, wellness of body and peace of mind.

Patty, Fran & ElysabethIn support of this mission, we operate the Well Being Conference Center on 160 acres in Tazewell, Tennessee. The property is nearly surrounded by 2.5 miles of the Powell River, which creates a sense of privacy and enhances the stillness and natural beauty of this rural site in the Cumberland Mountains.

Well Being Conference Center welcomes visitors to its Conference Center Building with its commercial kitchen, dining room and meeting room. For overnight, we have four Earth Sheltered Cabins, the Wood Duck Cabin, and six Cabinettes with a total sleeping capacity of 25 – 28 people. Your wellness, meditation, or yoga programs will be highly supported by the comfortable cabins, quality food, beautiful conference building, abundant wildlife, and stunning scenery that you will find here.

For family reunion, weddings, and outdoor group events, we have the Powell River Pavilion with plenty of covered seating right on the banks of the serene Powell River.

Picnic Area from the RiverThe Well Being Conference Center is to provide a venue for personal retreats, group retreats, and for civic, educational, and scientific meetings and workshops that are consistent with the Mission of Well Being Foundation.

Well Being Conference Center is a non-profit, non-affiliated and non-denominational foundation. The cabins are quite comfortable but do not include phone service, TV, internet, stereo systems, etc. Guests are asked not to bring alcohol or pets or illicit drugs onto on the property and smoking is not allowed in any building (including decks and patios). In short, these facilities are intended to provide an opportunity to enjoy the simplicity and freshness of Nature, to steep yourself in the stillness here, and to enjoy honest-to-goodness, non-electronic recreation such as kayaking on the Powell River, hiking to the top of the hill to see the mountains roll off into the blue/green distance, watching deer graze, being stunned by the beauty of a woodland wildflower, or hearing the primeval sound of a Pileated Woodpecker.
